Portrait of Dr. Botkin

Dr. Botkin grew up in Michigan knowing from an early age that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She earned her undergraduate degree from Clemson University before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois. After graduation, she was drawn back to the Carolinas and spent her first several years practicing as a mixed-animal veterinarian in Asheville, North Carolina.

Dr. Botkin recently relocated to Charleston with her husband and is thrilled to join the Flowertown Animal Hospital family. She places a strong emphasis on building meaningful relationships—not only between pets and their people, but also between clients and their veterinarian. Her professional interests include preventive care, client education, surgery, internal medicine, and urgent care cases.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Botkin enjoys spending time outdoors with her cattle dog mix, Smokey. She also loves exploring Charleston’s food scene and relaxing at home with her cats, Nash and Kirkland, curled up with a good book.
